ABOUT ME

It was during the golden era of hip hop in the late 80’s when I copped my first tapes and records. Thanks to my friends in school and my elder brother I got into the records of EPMD, Biz Markie, N.W.A., Public Enemy, Eric B. & Rakim and many more. The hip hop scene in Germany at that time was quite small and I felt like I belong to a minority.

But anyway, I kept doing my thing and started emceeing in 1992 with my school friends from the “Enemy Crew”. Thanks to Zack Gramatic and Evil God for taking me into the crew.

A few years later I got into the DJ-ing when I saw the highly skilled Turntablists doing magnificent things at the DMC-Championships. If you saw e.g. Chad Jackson’s and Cash Money’s Routine at that time you’d know what I mean. At theat time I was doing my first mixes and scratches on the 1s and 2s, I ran into this guy B-BASE.

He held up a recording workshop in a youth centre at that time, so we had a chance to record our songs in a really good quality. Until then our “studio” was a boom box with a built-in mic. B-BASE produced some of our songs and I remember that day during a studio session, where he chopped and looped up a sample and I was like: “Damn, I love what he’s doin’. That’s what I was lookin’ for all of my life.” Sounds cheesy right? But anyway, I started to look for gear for my own studio and finally I got my first AKAI S2000. A few months later my first SP1200 arrived! I was on top of the world. In 1999 my emceeing career came to an end. But I will never stop makin’ music. From then til now it’s all about authentic hip hop in its purest form!
